DIE GESICHTER DES BILDES / group show / Berlin DIE GESICHTER DES BILDES / FACES OF IMAGEProjektraum art.endart in Berlin 25.11.2022 Vernissage ab 19:00 UhrAusstellung vom 26.11 bis 10.12.2022 Participants of the exhibition: Andrzej Banachowicz, Anna Bochenek, Rafał Boettner-Łubowski, Marina Burani, Milan Cieslar, Joanna Imielska, Sebastian Krzywak, Dáša Lasotová, Hanna Maria Ograbisz-Krawiec, Aleksander Radziszewski, Sonia Rammer, Andrea Vettori. The exhibition is an international art project entitled Faces of Image (head and initiator of the project: Rafał Boettner-Łubowski PhD, professor at the Poznań University of the Arts / collaboration: Aleksander Radziszewski, M.A., assistant) The international project FACES OF IMAGE aims to present selected contemporary possibilities of artistic creation of an image: from a traditional painting, through an image inspired by anti-illusionist (including expressionist and abstract) means of imaging, through photographic, film and digital imaging, and also imaging taking advantage of the possibilities of modern digital print on non-standard surfaces. The project includes also a presentation of works with images of visual quotations in various original creative depictions. Polish, Czech and Italian artists, who represent different generations and media of contemporary visual art, have been invited to participate in the project. The project does not have an artificially set curatorial statement (thematic or theoretic) but rather it is intended to present various current ways of creating an image, as well as various narrations, which can be thus proposed to contemporary audience. Therefore the assumptions of the project do not limit and close the explored subject but lead to revealing its potential, multithreading and wealth of creative possibilities. Present interest in creating various images is indeed vastly lively and it connects with numerous strategies (sometimes definitely opposing), assumptions, sensitivities or artistic preferences, sometimes resulting in works that are hybrid in terms of style or media. It is a precious and pluralistic situation, impossible probably to research totally and ultimately, yet possible to fragmentarily observe and research-also through revealing artistic attitudes and solutions which seem very valuable but are not significantly present and promoted in the official, mainstream artistic circulation. The initiator and head of the project FACES OF IMAGE is professor Rafał Boettner-Łubowski PhD, professor at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts assisted by Aleksander Radziszewski, M.A., assistant, who also works at the University. The FACES OF IMAGE project was initiated with an international exhibition in the Czech Republic, staged at the Půda Gallery in Český Těšín in the early autumn of 2022. The second exhibition of the project is the presentation at Projektraum art.endart in Berlin, organised in November 2022, while the third exhibition of the initiative will take place in Poland, in Poznań, at the beginning of 2023. In the case of the second and third exhibitions mentioned above, apart from the works that were presented at the Půda Gallery, art objects by several other artists will also be shown, making each of the subsequent exhibitions in the FACES OF IMAGE series also a new artistic event in its contextual aspect. The project FACES OF IMAGE is financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in 2022 as a result of research activity of professor Rafał Boettner-Łubowski PhD, employee at the Faculty of Art Education and Curatorial Studies at Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań. The Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Ostrava, associate professor Daniel Jandačka, PhD, has offered his patronage to the international art project Faces of Image, including the exhibition connected with the project at Půda Gallery in Český Těšín in 2022, as well as subsequent exhibitions of the project in Germany and Poland. He has also made alliances in terms of artistic collaboration with the Head of the project, professor Rafał Boettner-Łubowski PhD, professor at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts and his team (Aleksander Radziszewski, M.A., assistant; and the employees of the Faculty of Art Education and Curatorial Studies at Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań), to help accomplish the realization of the project.
